Baseball NZ's Continues to Evolve National Baseball Tournaments for Wider Participation, Development & Enjoyment.

The 2025 National Baseball Tournament dates and details are confirmed.

Baseball NZ’s National Tournaments serve several purposes; player development, challenge and competition, tournament experience and a viewing opportunity for National Selectors and Coaches to identify and observe players for future National Squad and Team selections. 

Players seeking to be identified and/or selected for the National Development Squad (U15), National U18, U23 or Diamondblacks squads must attend a National Tournament to be observed in these tournament environments.

2025 SUMMER SHOWDOWN

14U & 16U

  • 5th - 8th February 2025 (5th Feb = travel day)
  • Tauranga City Baseball Club  -  Carlton Park, Otumoetai, Tauranga
  • Each team entered is required to bring a certified Community Club umpire and Level 0 Scorekeeper to this tournament.

NATIONAL CLUB CLASSIC

Open & Masters Grades 

  • 3rd - 6th April 2025
  • Auckland
  • Includes Open (17 years & above) & Masters Grades (35 years plus).

NATIONAL LITTLE LEAGUE ALL-STAR SERIES

Regional All-Star Teams

  • 9th & 10th February 2025 Tauranga
  • 12U Majors
  • 14U Juniors
  • 16U Seniors

2024/2025 National Showcase Series

  A three-weekend National Showcase Series for National U18, U23 (selected) players, plus invited training partners, to further develop their game-based skills and showcase their baseball development.


National Showcase 1:

  • 26th – 28th October 2024
  • Caribbean Drive Diamond, Auckland
  • 3-day camp environment, inclusive of national athlete testing, player draft and two doubleheaders
  • San Deigo Padres Coaches, immersed player sessions


National Showcase 2:

  • 15th & 16th February 2025
  • Mahoe Ballpark, Hamilton
  • Training and games


National Showcase 3:

  • 22nd & 23rd March 2025
  • Avonhead Park, Christchurch
  • Training and games
